Wine by nature is a multidimensional and complex product. A product that, in order for someone to say that it has defined certain characteristics, must leave its mark on the creation and correct selection of varieties, establishment and cultivation of the vineyards, because that is where the great wines are born. The Concept Askon Art Vineyards and Wines was launched in 2016 with an emphasis on the proper study and optimal establishment of vineyards where sustainable cultivation methods and precision viticulture are applied.

The vineyards are located in the splash area in the village of Askas at altitudes starting from 970m and reaching up to 1300m above sea level. Depending on the orientation and composition of the soils, the most suitable varieties were selected. In general, the soils are stony with a sandy loamy composition and clayey-sandy composition in some vineyards, this leads to low production, balanced vines and fruit with particularity and very good quality characteristics.

The temperature during the summer months ranges between 20 – 30 °C per day and quite a large temperature difference between day and night. This leads to effortless ripening and the optimal expression of the aromatic and phenolic character of each variety, after all climate change is something that leads us to look for cooler areas. The native varieties Yannoudi, Maratheutiko, Black, Xynisteri, Vasilissa as well as international varieties such as Assyrtiko of Santorini, Syrah, and Sauvignon Blanc are cultivated and revived in the vineyards.
